Abstract: The article defines the role of investment policy of the enterprise in the development of the enterprise. The investment policy is considered as part of the organization’s reform, aimed at ensuring the optimal use of investment resources, justified the unification of certain sources of financing, achieving positive integral indicators of project efficiency. The factors influencing the formation of the investment policy plan are presented. It is noted that in developing this policy it is necessary to take into account its basic principles, specifics of activity, peculiarities of the environment in which the enterprise operates and many other factors. The investment activity of enterprises in light industry of Ukraine is analyzed. When forming the investment policy of light industry enterprises, it is necessary to take into account a number of conditions, the most important of which are: frequent fluctuations of the investment market; relatively low level of profitability of investments in industry; instability of state investment policy; relatively low investment activity of enterprises, caused by the consequences of the economic crisis. As investment policy determines the medium and long-term objectives of investment activity and the main ways of their achievement, the important factor in shaping the investment attractiveness of light industry enterprises is taking into account: external factors and internal factors influencing their investment attractiveness. As a result, it is noted that extremely low volumes of capital investment in light industry, negative dynamics of attraction and low share of direct investments, uneven investment in light industry enterprises in the regional context testify to the steady low investment activity in the investigated branch. This in the future may lead to a decline in the efficiency of industrial production, the decline of the production base, the growth of import dependence on the market of goods in the industry.
