Abstract: The objective of the research is to establish the specific correspondence between the economy and culture in modern societies. The etymology of the term «culture» is briefly reviewed by the retrospective analysis. It is indicated that the culture definition had its beginnings in agriculture and cultivation. The significant differences in understanding culture point out the evolution of cultural context in the economic thought history.
Eventually, it was found that the values and culture preferences became more and more complex.
Methods of empirical and systematic analysis were used to recognize the economic aspects of culture. Scientists draw our attention to the sociology context of culture with human behavior meaning. And in social philosophy, the culture is namely analyzed as a factor of influence on social processes. The essential merit of our work is to combine economic, sociology and philosophy approaches to understanding the culture and its evaluation.
Culture influences how people see themselves and others, in terms of factors such as gender, age, and ethnicity. A feeling of having friends and family is needed to create a sense of individual and cultural arrays, collective identifications. Identity is also a significant mechanism of social integration; it is shaped through frames of a society’s history, traditions, customs, and values. Culture is an explicit reference of what people need, use and value as part of the overall survival mechanism in any society. In economics, culture defines consumption and savings, employee motivations.
Moreover, values tremendously determine the level of economic thinking, economic behavior, the nature of business, decisionmaking process and trends in the socio-economic development of the country as a whole. In conclusion, it is proved that culture is an integral part of economic systems development and it may drive economic growth.
