Анотація: У статті досліджено використання блокчейну в торгівлі вуглецевими кредитами як інструменту соціальної відповідальності бізнесу. Активне впровадження екологічних ініціатив підтримується міжнародними угодами (Кіотський протокол, Паризька угода), однак залишаються проблеми прозорості й моніторингу. Блокчейн може вирішити ці питання завдяки децентралізації та точності обліку, що вже демонструють ОАЕ та Китай. Автор визначає соціальну відповідальність бізнесу як баланс між економічною діяльністю, етичними стандартами та екологічною безпекою, пропонуючи нові підходи до вирішення проблем обліку й розподілу вуглецевих квот.
Abstract: The article examines the application of blockchain in the market of carbon credits as a tool of social responsibility for businesses. Recent decades have been characterised by actively implementing «green» initiatives in business, where ecological approaches become an important component of production processes. This trend is reinforced by international agreements such as the Kyoto Protocol of 1997 and the Paris Agreement of 2015, which created a system of carbon credits. However, difficulties with transparency and monitoring remain relevant.
The application of blockchain technologies offers new ways to solve these problems. Transparency, decentralization and accurate accounting can significantly increase the efficiency of carbon trading, as has been demonstrated in the UAE and China. This highlights the importance of blockchain research as a tool for business social responsibility and environmental development.
The author created his definition of social responsibility of business — a fair balance between business entities and activities in the field of social tasks, moral and ethical standards, environmental safety and support of society and the state.
The approaches that can be applied in solving the existing problems that arose after the Kyoto Protocol of 1997 and the Paris Agreement of 2015 were analyzed in the following areas: a) the complexity of the greenhouse gas emission accounting system; b) divergence of national interests in the process of allocation of carbon quotas; c) lack of long-term system development strategy.
The author defines social responsibility of business as a balance between economic activity, ethical standards and environmental safety, offering new approaches to solving the problems of accounting and distribution of carbon credits.
