Анотація: Статтю присвячено концептуалізації інтенсифікації як особливої логіки розвитку суб’єктів підприємництва в умовах соціально-економічної нестабільності. Обґрунтовано, що розвиток є глибшим і змістовнішим процесом, ніж зростання, яке виступає його кількісною формою. Інтенсифікація розглядається не як прискорення, а як поглиблення трансформацій, спрямованих на мобілізацію внутрішніх ресурсів і створення нової якості організації. Визначено відмінності між інтенсивним розвитком як результатом і інтенсифікацією як процесом. Зроблено висновок, що інтенсифікація виступає методологічною категорією сучасного підприємницького розвитку та основою формування стійких конкурентних переваг.
Abstract: The article is devoted to the conceptual substantiation of intensification as a specific logic of entrepreneurial development in conditions of socio-economic instability. The study emphasizes that modern scientific discourse is characterized by the ambiguity of interpreting the categories of “development” and “growth”, which complicates the theoretical analysis of entrepreneurial dynamics.
While some scholars tend to equate these concepts, the majority of academic sources define development as a broader and deeper phenomenon, encompassing qualitative transformations, whereas growth reflects only its quantitative dimension. A critical review of academic debates confirms that development involves structural and functional changes, the accumulation of knowledge, innovations, and the improvement of organizational capabilities, while growth is manifested through external indicators such as income, profits, or market share.
The research highlights that intensification should not be reduced to simple acceleration or expansion of processes. It is conceptualized as a processual logic of deepening and strengthening transformations, which mobilizes internal resources of the entrepreneurial organization without proportional involvement of external ones. In this sense, intensification is seen as a methodological category that integrates ontological, procedural, and value dimensions of development. The article distinguishes between “intensive development” as the outcome of qualitative transformation and “intensification of development” as the process that generates such results.
Special attention is paid to the phenomenon of corporate growth, which may occur either organically, based on self-organization and internal resources, or inorganically, through mergers, acquisitions, and diversification. A comparative analysis allows us to argue that growth should be understood as a form of manifestation or result of development, while development itself constitutes the essential foundation of entrepreneurial progress.
The findings suggest that intensification of development represents not only a search for higher efficiency but also a new entrepreneurial logic of action under uncertainty and constraints. This logic transforms limitations into catalysts of change, ensuring resilience, competitiveness, and the creation of multidimensional value. The article contributes to the conceptualization of intensification as a methodological category of contemporary entrepreneurial development and opens perspectives for its further instrumentalization within strategic management.
