Abstract: The article presents an analysis of theoretical approaches to defining the concept of investment potential and identifies its significance for crisis management within the national economy. Under current conditions of economic instability caused by Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine, the issue of overcoming the consequences of the crisis has become increasingly urgent. In this context, the role of investment potential grows substantially, as it may serve as a crucial driver of economic recovery and reconstruction in the post-war period. The shortage of internal budgetary resources makes it evident that external and internal investments must play a central role in restoring economic stability. Enhancing Ukraine’s investment potential and effectively applying it within crisis management strategies can therefore become a strategically significant tool for national renewal.

The article aims to uncover the theoretical foundations of investment potential and to clarify its importance for crisis management of the national economy. The research relies on methods of analysis, synthesis, comparison, and generalization.

There are various conceptual approaches to defining investment potential. The resource-based approach focuses on internal economic resources and capacities but does not take into account external sources of investment. The probabilistic approach interprets investment potential as a set of possible investment opportunities influenced by various factors and expressed through financial flows. The market approach views investment potential as the result of the interaction between supply and demand for investment resources, shaped by market conditions, expected profitability, risks, and payback periods. The capacity approach considers investment potential as the ability of a territory, sector, or enterprise to utilize capital effectively under internal and external influences. The structural approach interprets it as part of a broader system of economic potentials, while the effective approach emphasizes achieving specific results from applied investments.

The complexity and multidimensional nature of investment potential underline its strategic significance for national economic recovery.
